Few men have had in their hands the privilege of being able to change the course of history, and the few who have, have done it through war, sowing their time with death, destruction and pain their time. John Paul II, however, was a saint who changed history with the force of the love that emanates from a deep and sincere faith in God. A faith that led him to surrender himself to others until the last breath of his strength. The story begins in the days before his death and in the hand of an entire group of characters (such as: Benedict XVI, cardinals: Dziwisz, Oder, Ruini and others, his childhood friends and those who accompanied him along his ministerial exercise) we will be able to follow the spiritual journey that led John Paul II to become a priest, a bishop, an archbishop, a holy Pope and finally a saint, through the major historic events of our time: the interwar period, World War II, the Cold War, the fall of the Berlin Wall and the Iron Curtain, among others. No doubt, that for believers John Paul II is a saint and for those who do not profess the Catholic religion the man who changed modern history, and for both a role model to follow today. In short, this book presents the life of John Paul II, showing us his personality, his feelings and emotions through the eyes of those who where around him, in such a way that they show us how sanctity was forged in the soul of the man who was Karol Wojtyla.
