Thomas Scheibitz, née in 1968 in Radeberg, study in the HfBK Dresden of 1991-1996. Lives and works in Berlin. The artist was just nominated for the German contribution the of the Biennale in Venice in 2005. This publication concentrates for the first time upon the skulpturale work of an artist who has done a name to itself in short time, first of all, as a painter. Subject is the painted sculpture. The mode of expression of the artist shows influences which reach from the art-historical tradition up to contemporary everyday esthetics. In the publication is presented the so created visual vocabulary from almost one decade which quotes motives from art, architecture and film. The classically held monograph documents about 50 sculptures and with numerous colored illustrations.
