Alice Sir Colin and Lady Anderson were passionate about the Art Nouveau style, a 'new' and integrated approach to art and design. Their Collection encompassed a great range of the movement and includes furniture by Gallé and Majorelle, posters by Alphonse Mucha, exquisite jewellery by Lalique and Fouquet, glass by Daum, Gallé and Tiffany and metalware made for Liberty. Sir Colin and Lady Anderson also acquired a range of Art Nouveau objects made by unknown designers who adapted the style to the commercial opportunities of mass production. The Anderson Collection of Art Nouveau was given to the University of East Anglia in 1978, and is displayed every three years.
