Semi-Detached: Writing, Representation and Criticism in Architecture is a book about the role played by words and images in shaping our understanding of the built environment. A documentation of the conventions of architectural representation, it is also an exploration of the many ways in which those conventions can be productively challenged, subverted or ignored to broaden the conversation about architecture and what it means. The book assembles a series of essays and interviews from practicing architects on the role of representation in their work, alongside contributions from some of Australia's most highly regarded contemporary architectural photographers.
