Architect-engineers Jean-Marie Duthilleul and Etienne Tricaud founded AREP in January 1997 and its diverse body of work can be found across Europe and Asia. The practice specialises in design of transport amenities, business centres, public buildings, shopping malls, engineering projects and redevelopments and renovations of historically significant buildings.
Key projects featured in this monograph include the spectacular transformation of the Strasbourg Intermodal Transportation Hub in France, a concept train for the Ile-de-France network, new arrangements for historical buildings such as the Notre Dame cathedral interior in Paris, 8th-century monastery and 4th-century abbey renovations and the development of a stage-wall roof for an ancient Roman theatre.
Experienced in designing complex transport amenities and with knowledge gained from extensive research into reception, crowd management, ambiences and comfort levels, AREP extends its expertise to every aspect of the travelling city.
