The first overview of one of Germany's most successful architectural offices: Ingenhoven Overdiek and Partner.publiarq.com
Ingenhoven Overdiek and Partner is one of the most successful young architectural offices in Germany. In "Energies" their oeuvre will be comprehensively documented for the first time. Essays by renowned authors such as Wolfgang Pehnt, Cologne, and Martin Pawley, London, provide an introduction to the working methods of the office, placing it within the context of the international architecture scene and history. Following this is a thematic presentation of their most important projects. "Working Worlds" shows innovative designs for workplaces in offices and industry, including the new headquarters for the publishing house, Burda. In "Resources and ecology" the RWE high-rise in Essen, the Wan Xiang International Plaza in Shanghai, and the design for the administration offices at the Commerzbank in Frankfurt are amongst the most spectacular buildings documented. The chapter "Mobility" provides the first detailed portrayal of the design for the new central station in Stuttgart. Recent projects such as a d epartment store in Lübeck or the planned "Central Park Berlin" are discussed in the chapter "Town and Landscape".
This volume with its extensive visual material will make the most signficant buildings and projects - from the general concept to architectonic detail - accessible to a wide international audience for the first time.
