Argentinian Guillermo Kuitca (born in Buenos Aires in 1961) is one of Latin America's most important contemporary artists. Architecture, theatre, music, and maps play a central part in Kuitca's work. From maps, town plans, and architectural drawings the artist creates imaginary poetic and territorial worlds in which reality and fiction merge. Redrawing the map of the world, Kuitca brings to light complex spatial relationships and intricate social processes.
The Daros-Latinamerica Collection contains many works by Kuitca. They form the basis of a publication that engages the reader in a vibrant dialogue with the artist and his work. An interview with Kuitca by Hans-Michael Herzog and countless color illustrations provide a representative overview of the artist's wide-ranging paintings and drawings.
