Greuze the Draftsman is the first publication exclusively devoted to Greuze's work as a draftsman. It accompanies the exhibition of the same name which is on view from May 14 - August 4, 2002 at The Frick Collection and at The J. Paul Getty Museum, Los Angeles, September 10 - December 1, 2002. This beautifully-illustrated Curator Emeritus and Guest Curator Edgar Munhall is the only comprehensive study on the artist since the author's exhibition catalogue of 1976. Included in the catalogue are an essay by Irina Novosselskaya, Chief of the Western European Art Department of The State Hermitage
Museum in St. Petersburg, and entries for ninety-five graphic works and one painted self-portrait by Jean-Baptiste Greuze (1725-1805). Each entry is accompanied by one or more illustrations. London: Merrell, in association with The Frick Collection, New York, 2002.publiarq.com
