En "El Jarrón árabe del Reino de Suecia", Rémi Labrusse recorre de modo fascinante la historia de uno de los escasos jarrones monumentales nazaríes conservados. Del Reino de Granada a Chipre, y de ahí a Istanbul, Viena y Estocolmo, el jarrón realizará entre los siglos XV y XIX un largo viaje que lo llevará a cruzar fronteras tanto físicas como culturales. En el trayecto, se verá transformado en su significación e incluso en su materialidad, convirtiéndose en lo que Labrusse llama un "Objeto frontera". De este modo, el relato minucioso de la vida de un objeto que aquí se nos ofrece revela asimismo una necesidad historiográfica apremiante: la de dar cuenta del papel las fronteras culturales a la hora de escribir una Historia del Arte que requiere del diálogo con la Antropología.
