During his lifetime (1898-1976), Alvar Aalto created hundreds of designs, many of which were never realised. Although the goal of an architect's work is, as a rule, to produce a tangible result, unbuilt works provide a fascinating close-up of his thought process. The book includes presentations of 19 projects with introductory texts, a catalogue of 80 additional projects and a writing based on two interviews. Writers: Sirkkaliisa Jetsonen, Arne Heporauta, Mia Hipeli, Marjo Holma, Ulla Kinnunen, Pirjo Hyytiäinen, Marjaana Launonen, Katariina Pakoma, Risto Raittila, Hanni Sippo, Elina Standertskjöld, Mirkka Widgren.
