Using animation software in architectural design has opened up a vast range of new possibilities. by replacing real experience with simulated worlds, and by substituting the conventional relationships between form, function, and structure, with the interaction of digital information, and design strategies, new methods and techniques in the construction process emerge. The use of CNC computers (Numerical Control Machines) also allows the designer to consider the actual realization of the design in a radically new way. The shaping of the project and the way it is structured are closely entwined, which leads to a more coherent concept, representation and final realization. This book takes an introductory look at this fascinating new technology.
