Design Through Making links architectural design to other disciplines such as product design, engineering, and fabrication, and discusses the future of architectural design as an interdisciplinary practice familiar with complex manufacturing techniques. In short, it is about learning how to design something through knowing about its manufacturing. This book documents the emergence of the designer/maker as one who has reviewed their knowledge in fabrication methods and material behavior in order to grasp and exploit the new opportunities offered by contemporary manufacturing and representational techniques.
