This first volume, which was produced for a first exhibition, is part of a broad project that aims to systematically examine figurative art. The result will be an exhaustive panorama on the subject, given the production of the approximately 25 contemporary artists examined. In this publication, analysis will be made of the following artists in particular: Carlo Guarienti, Leonardo Cremonini, Enrico Colombotto Rosso, Alberto Sughi, Piero Guccione, Giorgio Scalco, Luciano Ventrone, Alessandro Kokocinski and Ugo Riva. The underlying thread connecting these personalities ideally places the artist in islands of arcadia where some of the best and non-classifiable painters work towards a total and non-decorative idea of figurative art. In this way, the artists are not bound to a particular movement and so the publication, which begins its analysis in 1948, attests to the vitality of figurative ideas (and also their independence from agendas), offering the experiences of established artists who have attempted the reconstruction of the image without repeating the inspiration and models of their previous work.
The works in the publication include: Nascita di una natura morta by Carlo Guarienti, Alle spalle del desiderio by Leonardo Cremonini, La Mummia by Enrico Colombotto Rosso, La cena: la vestizione by Alberto Sughi, Dopo il tramonto by Piero Guccione, Danceuse e specchio by Giorgio Scalco, Una notte senza stelle by Luciano Ventrone, Dove la ragione non ha smarrito la vita by Alessandro Kokocinski and Non si può sfidare il cielo by Ugo Riva.
