A great part of the extensive artistic oeuvre of the famous architect and artist Le Corbusier (1887-1965) is largely unknown. We owe it to the limitless engagement of interior architect and gallery owner Heidi Weber that his artistic works are at all accessible to the public. She began collecting, exhibiting and selling his drawings and paintings during the last years of his life. The great master himself built the 'Centre Le Corbusier - Museum Heidi Weber' in Zurich especially for this purpose. A unique collection of his oil paintings, drawings, sculptures, furniture and publications has so grown under the roof of Le Corbusier's last building.
It is a largely unknown fact that Heidi Weber herself published Le Corbusier's graphic work under great expenditure, but in very limited editions. These rarities will be available beginning of November. Birkhäuser - Publishers for Architecture has already published a number of important titles on the architectural work of Le Corbusier in the past - these publications on his graphic and artistic work will ideally supplement this programme segment.
