This book sheds a new light on one of the most important and probably oldest topics of European urban architecture: the street.
Taking Genoa and Berlin as typological examples, a total of 22 individual house plans were drawn up in the context of an experiment in design; each represents a fresh, creative planning possibility in view of the current redensification of urban space. The publication documents the assignments and results of a European project carried out among students of architecture in Potsdam and Genoa under the overall direction of Klaus Theo Brenner. The resulting designs are bold and sensitive, complementing one another to generate a magnificent, innovative image of the street and approximate to a "project for the ideal city", A book for urban planners and architects
