Art of the Middles Ages brings together forty-two spectacular medieval works of art including precious objects, sculpture, stained glass, manuscripts and paintings.
Highlights include a newly-discovered Anglo-Saxon casket dating from around 800 AD that was probably preserved in the treasury of Moissac Abbey in France and a long lost panel showing the Dream of Joseph, with an angel announcing the birth of Christ, from the Royal Abbey of St-Denis (c. 1140-45).
The book Art of the Middles Ages has been published to accompany the exhibition presented by Sam Fogg in New York in October 2007.
