This unique publication shows the highlights from one of the world's most important private collections of Hebrew Manuscripts and Printed Books, namely those of the Swiss collector René Braginsky.
Attention is paid to medieval Hebrew manuscripts, profusely illustrated books, decorated Jewish contracts of marriage and rich illustrated scrolls with the story of the Bible book of Esther, with beautiful matching metals and wooden shells.
The author of the publication, Emile Schrijver, is curator of the Bibliotheca Rosenthaliana, the special collection of Judaica and Hebraica at the library of the Amsterdam University.
