Resumen del libro

The results of the Zumtobel Group Award 2010, awarded for the second time in September of this year, will be presented by an exhibition that opens on November 18th in the Studio of the Aedes Architekturforum am Pfefferberg.
On view will be prize-winning and nominated projects for the Zumtobel Group Award for Sustainability and Humanity in the Built Environment 2010, which is endowed with altogether euros140,000.

Curated by the Architekturforum Aedes, Berlin on commission from the Zumtobel Group, and divided into the categories Built Environment and Research and Initiative, this prize distinguishes both realized projects featuring sustainable approaches in the areas of architecture, engineering, and urban planning, as well as research projects and initiatives capable of contributing to a more livable future.

In the category Built Environment, this year's award went to the Brazilian architectural office Triptyque for the office and gallery building HARMONIA 57 in São Paulo, a project that is pioneering both ecologically and architecturally.
Distinguished this year in the category Research and Initiative was the nonprofit design office Terreform ONE + Terrefuge in New York for their project New York City Resource and Mobility.
In addition to the prizewinners, the international jury selected 4 nominations in each category. Altogether 40 projects - 20 in each category - were proposed to the jury by a panel of international experts. The jury members were: Stefan Behnisch, Stuttgart/Los Angeles/Boston; Yung Ho Chang, MIT, Cambridge; Brian Cody, TU Graz; Colin Fournier, University College London; Andreas Ludwig, CEO Zumtobel Group (2003-2010), Dornbirn; Enrique Norton, Mexico City/New York; Anna Tibaijuka, General Director of UN Habitat, Nairobi.
Appearing in conjunction with the exhibition will be an Aedes catalog featuring the 10 award projects.
All 40 projects, accompanied by an interview with Peter Sloterdijk, are profiled in the publication
