These and the other museums, including the Porcelain Collection, Sculpture Collection, the Armory, and the Museum of Decorative Arts, essentially owe their existence to the patronage of Augustus II the Strong and his son, Augustus III. Today, these museums make it possible to take a journey through time from antiquity to the present day. This opulent volume presents numerous illustrations featuring very special highlights from the individual collections as well as the historical buildings in which they are housed.
