Nature´s blueprints are constantly adapting, reacting flexibly to varying conditions and changing influences, and in this respect they are a perfect model for an innovative planning process in architecture. The result is extreme efficiency and the most beautiful design under the given spatial and temporal conditions.
This publication provides an introduction to a method of desingning where the development and integration of advanced technology leads to a continual optimisation of form and efficiency in the resulting architecture. Looking at five prominent projects, created in the recent years by Petzinka Pink Architects, technical innovation, planning contexts and general lines of development are systematically presented and critically reflected upon.
This book also provides detailed insight into the work of one of Germany´s most successful architectural offices, which became known for unusual projects such as the Berlin offices of the federal state North-Rhine Westphalia, the CDU´s party headquarters in Berlin, the Citygate in Dússeldorf and the Century Hall in Bochum.
