This catalogue raisonné of the paintings of K. O. Götz (born 1914), one of the main protagonists of German Informel, is published in honour of the artist's 100th birthday. With more than 1,000 paintings, the catalogue spans eight decades, from 1937 through 2012. Götz developed the artistic concept of his painting up until around 1952, from which point on he remained true to his own unique style. As professor at the academy in Düsseldorf, he taught, among others, Sigmar Polke, Gerhard Richter and Franz Erhard Walther, and thus had a key influence on the first generation of post-war German artists. This bilingual catalog published on the occasion of his 100th birthday provides an overview of his epochal artistic oeuvre with a selection of more than 80 works of art.
