Cet ouvrage constitue le catalogue de l'exposition "Giacometti et les étrusques", qui sera présentée à la Pinacothèque de Paris du 16 septembre 2011 au 8 janvier 2012.
Il s'agit d'effectuer un rapprochement exceptionnel entre Giacometti, dont l'intérêt pour l'art étrusque va provoquer chez un bouleversement considérable, et la civilisation qui s'est développée au coeur de la péninsule italienne au cours de l'âge du fer.
Cette exposition présentera quelque cent cinquante objets étrusques et une trentaine de sculptures de Giacometti.
