Printed on matte paper using a dry-print process that imbues them with velvet and almost grainy hue, the photographs of Cy Twombly, best known for his paintings, drawings, and sculpture, are reminiscent of pictorialist fin de siècle photography. Generating visions by the simplest of means, however, they are utterly contemporary.
