What kind of mood can the architecture of a building create? What demands are made of cultural structures? How do architects handle them? "Building(s) for the arts" offers a comprehensive overview of the outstanding buildings that were created for the arts and culture in Lower Austria over the last 20 years.
Many cultural buildings with a cross-regional effect are discussed along with many smaller buildings. Some of the buildings are the St. Pölten Festspielhaus festival building by Klaus Kada, the Lower Austrian State Museum by Hans Hollein, the Kunsthalle Krems art hall by Adolf Krischanitz, the Krems Caricature Museum by Gustav Peichl, the "Wolkenturm" (Cloud Tower) open air arena by next enterprise and the Grafenegg "Auditorium" Concert Hall by Schröder Schulte-Ladbeck/Dieter Irresberger.
