The work of Atelier 13, a French firm based on Toulouse, develops along three lines: urban or territorial scale projects, particularly in the infrastructures sector; the converting and modernising of old buildings; and, finally, the design and construction of new works of architecture. In each of these sectors Atelier 13 applies its unitary notion of architecture, focusing on technical/functional precision, paying the closest possible attention to environmental factors of both a physical and historical nature, and turning design into an opportunity for deep aesthetic and social analysis
