Promovida por Wildenstein Institute, esta obra analiza la producción pictórica de Francisco de Zurbarán, coetáneo de los grandes pintores del Siglo de Oro: Velázquez, Ribera y Murillo.
Siguiendo el esquema de un catálogo razonado, a la manera de El Greco, que actualmente está editando la Fundación, se divide en dos volúmenes. El primero de ellos recoge el catálogo de obras originales del pintor, conteniendo 280 fichas, y el segundo estudia, a través de 560 fichas, los conjuntos y las obras del taller de Zurbarán.
